VI Peel   PRE & POST CARE

PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Please follow these guidelines 7 days before your peel, unless otherwise instructed:

  • Eat a high-protein diet prior to treatment to support skin regeneration and healing.

  • Arrive with a clean face — no makeup, sunscreen, lotion, or skincare products on the treatment area.

  • STOP the following for 7 days prior to treatment:

    • Retinoids (Retin-A, tretinoin, adapalene)

    • Retinol products

    • Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)

    • Beta hydroxy acids (BHAs)

    • Glycolic, salicylic, lactic, or mandelic acids

    • Benzoyl peroxide

    • Exfoliating scrubs or devices

  • Avoid waxing, threading, laser treatments, microneedling, or facials for 7 days prior.

  • Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for 7 days prior.

  • Avoid alcohol for 24–48 hours prior to treatment.

  • Accutane (Isotretinoin):

    • You must disclose any current or recent use.

    • VI Peel® is not recommended while actively taking isotretinoin.

    • A minimum waiting period of 6 months after completing Accutane may be required unless otherwise cleared by your provider.

  • Do not proceed with treatment if you are:

    • Pregnant or breastfeeding

    • Experiencing an active infection, cold sore, rash, sunburn, or open skin

  • Inform your provider if you have:

    • A history of cold sores (HSV-1) — antiviral medication may be recommended

    • Melasma or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

    • Autoimmune or inflammatory skin conditions

POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

FIRST 24 HOURS

  • Do NOT wash your face for 4–6 hours (or as directed).

  • Avoid touching, rubbing, or picking the skin.

  • Expect redness, tingling, tightness, and darkening of the skin.

  • Avoid exercise, sweating, saunas, steam rooms, and heat exposure.

  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.

PEELING PHASE (Days 2–7)

  • Peeling typically begins around Day 2–3 and may last up to 7 days.

  • Do NOT pick, peel, or pull skin — this can cause scarring or hyperpigmentation.

  • Use only the post-peel kit products and instructions provided.

  • Keep skin hydrated with approved moisturizers.

  • Avoid makeup until peeling has subsided (or as directed by your provider).

  • No retinoids, acids, exfoliants, or active skincare products for 7 days.

  • Avoid sun exposure and apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily once allowed.

GENERAL POST-CARE

  • Eat a high-protein diet for 1–2 weeks after treatment to support skin repair.

  • Avoid facials, lasers, microneedling, waxing, or other treatments for 2 weeks.

  • Results continue to improve over 7–14 days as skin regenerates.

  • A series of peels may be recommended for optimal correction.
